Meet the new pastor!

FrJoeLorenzo

Fr. Joseph F. Lorenzo, O.F.M. was born in Brooklyn NY and, after graduating from Catholic grade school, entered St. Francis Seraphic Seminary, Andover, MA, the minor seminary of the Franciscan Friars. He was invested with the Franciscan habit at St. Anthony Friary in Catskill, New York, in 1967 and professed first vows in 1968. He studied philosophy at Immaculate Conception Seminary, Troy, NY and theology at Saint John Seminary, Brighton, MA. He was ordained a priest in 1976. Fr. Joe also studied Sacred Music at St. Pius X School of Liturgical Music, Purchase, NY (Manhattanville College of the Sacred Heart  1968-72) and Boston University Graduate School (1972-75). His first assignment was St. Pamphilus Church in Pittsburgh, PA where he served as pastor until 1989. In 1989, he was named Provincial Director of Vocations and Guardian of St. Bonaventure Friary, Brighton, MA. In 1995, he was named Pastor of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Derry, NH, and in 2004, he was named Pastor of the Shrine Church of St. Anthony of Padua, Manhattan, NYC, where he has been till this day.
