Parishioners gathered at the Abbey chapel by 5:00 pm, in time for vespers. photo 2 The community of nuns gather, seven times a day, to sing the psalms. Those who have been fortunate enough to have heard the psalms sungĀ at the Abbey, in Gregorian chant, have remarked on its great beauty and the sense of peace one is left with.

According to their constitution, “the deepest form of communication which the nuns of Regina Laudis extend to each guest is the liturgy. The community finds in the Eucharist and the Divine Office, expressed through the Gregorian Chant…a form of prayer which remains eminently capable of imparting peace and of evoking the response of present-day man.”

Following Vespers, our group were able to visit the Creche as well as the Abbey gift shop. Parishioners then gathered in the picnic area to enjoy good food and fellowship before the show.
