“HEY YOUS GUYS…
JOEY AND MARY WANT TO THANK FODDAR LARRY AND SFX FOR A GREAT CELEBRATION!”
Thank you to all who attended the event. It was a smashing success due to your participation. It was a great way for our SFX community to enjoy each other’s company and celebrate, collectively.
We hope everyone felt our community’s spirit and love.
It was quite the event, the house was packed and the food was delicious: corned beef and cabbage for the Irish, and lasagna for the Italians. We also enjoyed wedding cake and chocolate dipped strawberries for dessert (there was even a chocolate fountain)!
Throughout the evening, we were entertained by the antics taking place at “Joey and Mary’s Italian/Irish Wedding”. From the Irish Catholic Priest – who behaved in a very unpriestly manner, to the scorned ex-girlfriend who showed up to ruin the wedding (later endeavoring to make Joey jealous by flirting with a variety of parishioners), there was much to follow and lots of good natured jokes to enjoy.
The evening was filled with laughter, dancing, and – at times – more than a few blushing faces!
We will not soon forget the visit from our very own “Don Ziti”, who arrived to present some questionably obtained cash to the newlyweds. And finally, most of us were quite surprised to find that we had so many noteworthy, even notorious, parishioners among us (Dr Ruth, for example).
A special thank you to the following: all the parishioners who stayed and helped in clean up, Laura Williams and the entire kitchen crew, the Social Committee, the Parish Council, Pat Maguire, Maura McPartland, Washington Food Market, Nejame’s Wine and Spirits, and Water Witch Hose #2. A big thank you to our young parish adolescent volunteers: Patrick Murphy, Matt Sweeney, Jake Blanchard, Will Ginn, Jack and Grace Zona, Evan Golembeske, and Ryan Fanella aka Cake Boss Jr.
