The mission of our Faith Formation program is to work in unity with the parents and guardians of our parish children in bringing the Good News of Jesus Christ to all. Through participating in the Celebration of the Eucharist, classroom and home instruction, our parish children will come to experience the joy of the Catholic faith more deeply as their knowledge increases and faith grows.
Faith Formation (CCD) classes begin in First Grade with Kindergarten being optional. Weekly attendance at the celebration of the Eucharist (Mass) is central to our faith for all members of our parish community. Our class sessions meet every other week from September through April for children in Kindergarten through 5th grade. On the weeks that the children are not in class with St. Francis, lessons are to be completed at home with the children’s families. All classes meet 15 times per year for 1 1/2 hours. There are several days from which to choose for your child to attend classes including Sunday mornings and after school. Busing is available for after school classes for those who wish to utilize this convenience.
- The sacrament of First Reconciliation is celebrated in the winter of 2nd grade.
- First Holy Communion is celebrated in May of 3rd grade.
- Confirmation is celebrated in the spring of 10th grade.
